SICCI appointed Mr Kapil Channa as its official representative in New Delhi, India, in August 2008. His key responsibilities are to:

Advise SICCI on the scope and nature of programmes to be undertaken in India, and formulate and execute specific programmes;

Keep SICCI informed of all policy matters and changes of commercial significance in India;

Represent SICCI in making representations to the Indian government on matters which SICCI feels are importance to its members;

Develop and manage SICCI’s relationship with the Indian government and regulators involved in formulating legal and policy framework;

Keep SICCI posted on important announcements by the Indian government and other regulatory bodies; and
-
Keep SICCI abreast of major economic events and issues, particularly those which are significant to Singapore and are related to trade and investment.
SICCI, through Mr Channa’s office, provides a facilitating role to its members and the larger Singapore business community who are seeking to engage the business community in India. Specifically, the representative office is able to help with queries on the Indian market. It also helps businessmen get in touch with the relevant government agencies.
