Ms Veenaa Subramaniam

Director

Veenaa Subramaniam is an enterprise and workforce transformation leader with over two decades of experience building trusted partnerships across government, industry, the labour movement and the wider business community. Throughout her career, she has helped businesses, particularly SMEs, unlock opportunities through government initiatives, enabling them to innovate, transform and develop future-ready workforces.

As Assistant Director at NTUC’s Employment and Employability Institute (e2i), Veenaa works closely with employers, trade associations, unions and government agencies to help businesses strengthen their competitiveness through workforce transformation, digital innovation and talent development. She is particularly passionate about helping SMEs translate national initiatives into practical business outcomes by leveraging government support, accelerating digital transformation and building future-ready organisations.

Prior to joining e2i, Veenaa held leadership, strategy and communications roles across the Ministry of Manpower, Immigration & Checkpoints Authority, Infocomm Media Development Authority, Enterprise Singapore and the Land Transport Authority. She has also supported board governance, national masterplanning and inter-agency initiatives, giving her a broad understanding of how government, businesses and communities can work together to strengthen Singapore’s economy.

Beyond the public sector, Veenaa brings firsthand entrepreneurial experience, having founded and led her own branding consultancy. This perspective enables her to appreciate both the intent behind national policies and the day-to-day realities faced by business owners, particularly SMEs navigating growth and transformation.

Veenaa holds a Bachelor of Business (Honours) from Nanyang Technological University and a Double MBA from Nanyang Technological University and Waseda University, specialising in Strategy, Marketing and Management of Technology. Over the course of her public sector career, she received 16 professional awards across multiple government agencies in recognition of her leadership, innovation and service excellence. Her broader contributions have also been recognised through the International Iconic Influencer Award and her inclusion in the 8th Edition of Successful People in Malaysia & Singapore (2026), bringing her career recognitions to 18 professional awards and accolades.

A published author, speaker and grassroots leader, Veenaa regularly shares insights on human-first leadership, workforce transformation and women’s empowerment. Her leadership is grounded in the belief that lasting impact is achieved when government, businesses and communities work together. She is passionate about building partnerships that turn ideas into action and create meaningful outcomes for enterprises and people.

As a Director of the Singapore Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SICCI), Veenaa is committed to strengthening trusted public-private partnerships that support enterprise growth, empower people and contribute to Singapore’s continued economic resilience and prosperity.
